Pre-season Dinner 2009

Thank you to all that attended our pre-season dinner at Zeffirelli's in Manuka last Friday night (17th of April). Despite the exaggerated rumours of farcical events at the restaurant, a great night was had by most. Unfortunately the restaurant had two bookings for 45 people on the same night and in management's wisdom they declared that it was only one booking. When we arrived at the restaurant to be seated, our pre-ordered food was already on its way to the other table of 45 that had arrived not 15 minutes prior than we did. Luckily for us, the waiters were "Johnny on the spot" and within 20 minutes they had setup tables, chairs and settings for 45 people, and within a further 20 minutes plentiful amounts of pasta, salad and pizza platters started arriving at out tables - not a bad recovery considering the restaurant was fully booked and catering for a further 150 + people. A small group of about half a dozen latecomers demonstrated some basic ingenuity to add a few more seats and tables to the group, taking the total number of attendees to 50.

There were some amazing giveaways and prize packs won thanks to our sponsors (at least the disposable cameras came in handy), and it was great to see that some partners and supporters also attended, so thank you to everyone for supporting this event. We hope to be able to supply some photos on the "Gallery Section" soon and we'll see you at our next big event, the Trivia Night in a few months. Some fantastic new (booby) prizes are already flooding in for that event!!!
