The 2008 Ruiz Constructions
Hispanidad Cup was played on October 4 and 5 with some quality
football on display. The Narrabundah Football Club hosted the tournament at
Woden Enclosed oval with participants from the Illawarra and Sydney. NFC
would like to thank the following teams Warilla Wanderers (Mens and
Masters), Kambah Rovers (Masters), Colo Colo Wanderers (Mens), Kemblawarra
(Mens) and Sporting Peru (Masters).
This tournament was possible due to our

, who have as much passion for football as they do for their successful
business. A special thankyou to Number 10 Teamwear
(www.number10.com.au) for their
support in Masters competition. The Committee of the Narrabundah Football
Club would also like to thank Solera Catering
(www.solera.com.au) for the
delicious food at the dinner on Saturday night. A big thank you to the
Spanish Australian Club for hosting a wonderful night on Saturday where the
Solera Catering girls served a traditional Spanish feast to all players and
fans.
Winning is a big part of football, but
the major goal for NFC in this tournament was to provide all teams and
their fans a memorable weekend, where old and new friends could meet and
enjoy some quality football. It was great to see past friends from Warilla
Wanderers and Narrabundah FC mingle and renew their friendships. Most
importantly it was a great opportunity to meet new friends and form
relationships that will continue into the future.
Congratulations to Kambah Rovers in
winning the 2008 Masters Hispanidad Cup and to Colo Colo Wanderers for
winning the 2008 Ruiz Constructions Hispanidad Cup. Both teams displayed
some great football during the 2 days and deserved their victories.
I would also like to thank all the
Committee of the Narrabundah Football Club for the hard work leading up to
the tournament and during the 2 days. A special thankyou to Jose Lategui
and Julian Ramirez for their help at the BBQ your help is always
appreciated.
A big thank you to Pep and Eddie Ruiz
from Ruiz Constructions for your passion and enthusiasm, without your help
this tournament would not have been a success.
